PITCHING MASTERCLASS

Taught by Sasha Leigh Henry (she/her).

Date: April 11th, 2026 12pm-4pm EST

Class size capped at: 20 students

Format: virtual

Class description: Join director/producer Sasha Leigh Henry (Bria Mack Gets a Life, Dinner With Friends, TIFF, 2025) for a high energy, invigorating masterclass on the art and craft of pitching. For most filmmakers, pitching can be one of the most nerve-wracking experiences we have to embark on. There are usually so many unknowns, and the vulnerability level is high. This pitching masterclass will give you the information and practice space to help you feel confident in your pitches and your unique voice as a filmmaker.

Tangible takeaways:

  • Learn a framework for understanding your identity as multifaceted and gain agency over how you handle feedback.

  • Explore your unique values as the starting point for knowing and understanding yourself better through a hands-on activity.

  • Pitching format for film vs tv

  • In-depth knowledge about the various elements that go into a successful pitch

  • The importance of authenticity and how to weave your personal voice into your pitch

  • Real-time practice to pitch in front of Sasha and receive feedback

Who is this for: This masterclass is ideal for screenwriters, directors and producers, all of whom will pitch at various points in their careers. This class is designed to help you level up your pitching skills. You don’t need to have pitched before, as this can be a wonderful safe opportunity to practice for the first time, but it is recommended that you are a filmmaker with at least 2 years of professional experience (ie. 1-2 completed projects under your belt).
