ACTING FOR FILM/TV

Taught by August Winter (they/he).

Date: April 25th, 2026 12pm-4pm EST

Class size capped at: 10 students

Format: virtual

Class description: Join actor, screenwriter and director August Winter (Women Talking, Orphan Black: Echoes) for an engaging acting class for screen. This class will offer both technical acting tools as well as concrete ways to engage with your inherent sense of intuition, play, and a remembrance of why you originally wanted to be a storyteller.

Tangible takeaways:

  • Drop in exercises that can be ease-fully used for audition / script prep

  • A tangible way to break down a script that feels immediate, connective and empowering

  • An opportunity for each student to work a scene, using the tools we developed in class in real time (scenes will be provided for students ahead of time)

Who is this for: This masterclass is ideal for screenwriters, directors and producers, all of whom will pitch at various points in their careers. This class is designed to help you level up your pitching skills. You don’t need to have pitched before, as this can be a wonderful safe opportunity to practice for the first time, but it is recommended that you are a filmmaker with at least 2 years of professional experience (ie. 1-2 completed projects under your belt).

If you have any questions about your eligibility for this class, please email August Winter at awinter@spindlefilmsfoundation.com.
