Class description: Join CSA award winning director Zoe Hopkins (‘Little Bird’) for a comprehensive directing masterclass. This is a great opportunity to equip yourself with high-quality foundational knowledge about the responsibilities and skills of a director, as well as what next steps you can take to advance your career.

Tangible takeaways:

  • A clear breakdown of the responsibilities of a director from pre production through to post production

  • An in-class, hands on experience of breaking down a scene in preparation to direct

  • Introduction to shot listing

  • An overview of key relationships that directors have with other crew members

Who is this for: This entry-level class is suitable for directors who are just beginning their careers. If you have some foundational knowledge from film school, but have not yet embarked on your first professional directing project, this would be a good fit for you.
