Class description: Join Javelin Laurence (they/them), an ICF trained coach and multi-faceted storyteller, as they guide you through a comprehensive gender-diversity training course. This class will provide education in the nuances of gender identity, so as to equip you with the knowledge and tools to address your colleagues correctly, as well as learn tangible skills that will help you to provide effective allyship to your gender-diverse teammates.

Tangible takeaways: 

  • Understanding the various terms for folks who identify as gender-diverse and what they mean 

  • Pronouns: what they are and how to use them appropriately

  • Concrete practice opportunities for language and pronouns

  • Case studies that present a scenario where an ally could provide support, with group discussion about what the best practices would be for you, the ally, to take
     

Who is this for: This class is for cis-gendered allies who work in any department in the film industry, and who are invested in improving their ability to advocate for gender-diverse colleagues.
