WHO THE FUCK AM I?
WORKSHOP

Taught by Javelin Laurence (they/them).

Date: March 28th, 2026 12pm-3pm EST

Class size capped at: 20 students

Format: virtual

Class description: When you put yourself into your work it can be really easy to take feedback, critique, and rejection personally. On the flip side, if you never absorb feedback you have no way to grow as an artist. In this experiential workshop you will discover new things about who you are and what you value, with the goal of getting clear on how to manage the ups and downs of being a working artist. Join Javelin Laurence, an ICF credited coach and storyteller, for this workshop that will help you get off the rollercoaster believing everything that other people think and say about you and your work, without swinging too far in the other direction. You will walk away knowing more about yourself, and feeling better equipped to tell your stories.

Tangible takeaways:

  • Learn a framework for understanding your identity as multifaceted and gain agency over how you handle feedback.

  • Explore your unique values as the starting point for knowing and understanding yourself better through a hands-on activity.

  • Discover how self-discovery can be playful and low pressure through Alchemy's experiment-based process.

Who is this for: This is for the artists who have an existential crisis every time they get a rejection email, the ones who struggle to make decisions they feel confident about, and the ones who get sent on a spiral when someone gives them feedback on their art. Filmmakers from any discipline are welcome. From emerging to seasoned, every artist can benefit from an opportunity to get reacquainted with themself.
